How do I join EMILY's List?
The quickest way to join is to contribute on our web site. If you would like to receive membership information by mail, please email information@emilyslist.org and include your first name, last name, and address.
I no longer want to receive email from EMILY's List. How can I unsubscribe?
You can either unsubscribe from the link that is included in every email we send or simply email us to unsubscribe and we will remove you from our lists.
Is the EMILY's List site secure?
The transmission of your contribution information to our credit card processor is encrypted at the highest level currently available to ensure its security.
Do I need to register to use the site?
You do not need to register to use the site, but we recommend that you join our e-list to receive news alerts, customized content, and to make contributing easier.
How will my personal information be used?
When you make an online contribution, we ask you to provide your name, address, occupation, name of employer, the amount of your contribution, your credit card information, telephone number, and email address. We are required by federal law to obtain, maintain, and submit to the Federal Election Commission (FEC) the name, mailing address, occupation, and name of employer of individuals whose contributions exceed $200 per calendar year. This information must be reported to the FEC and is made available to the public. However, it is against the law for organizations to use the information gathered from FEC reports for fundraising purposes. For donations made to candidates through EMILY's List, we will provide your information to the candidates' campaign organizations for reporting purposes. We also need to ensure that all contributions received are within the regulations of the Federal Election Campaign Act; that is why we ask you to answer a series of brief questions about your contribution.
We will use your email address to confirm online contributions and we may use your phone number and/or email address to contact you if we need any additional information about your contribution. We will also use your email address to send you important news and updates from EMILY's List.

Does EMILY's List have chapters or offices in other states?
EMILY's List is a national organization based in Washington, D.C. We do not have state or local chapters.
Are contributions to EMILY's List and EMILY's List recommended candidates tax deductible?
EMILY's List is registered with the Federal Election Commission as a political action committee. Contributions to political entities and candidates are not deductible for federal income tax purposes.
