Barnes, Burner rank as two of top-funded congressional challengers

EMILY’s List congressional candidates Kay Barnes and Darcy Burner are gearing up for this fall’s general election, making CQ Politics’s list of top-funded congressional challengers. Running to unseat Republican incumbent Rep. Sam Graves in Missouri’s sixth district, former Kansas City Mayor Barnes will be the first “well-funded and well-known opponent” Graves has faced. Burner, a former Microsoft Corporation manager, has outraised incumbent Rep. Dave Reichert, an impressive feat for any challenger.
