Halvorson Will Fight for Illinois 11th

EMILY's List candidate state Sen. Debbie Halvorson -- running for the Illinois 11th congressional district seat -- announced to voters that the days of poor Republican representation will soon be over. "Whether it is at the state or national level, I will always be there for you," said Halvorson. As the daughter of a small business owner, she understands the struggles small businesses face today, including the rising cost of health care. Halvorson will work in Congress, as she has in Illinois, to make insurance more affordable and reduce the cost of prescription drugs by allowing direct negotiation with drug companies -- and to reauthorize the State Children’s Health Insurance Program.
