EMILY's List Announces Endorsement of Dr. Victoria Wulsin for Ohio's 2nd Congressional District
WASHINGTON, D.C. - EMILY's List, the nation's largest grassroots political network and financial resource for women running for elective office, today announced its endorsement of Dr. Victoria Wulsin in her bid for Ohio's 2nd Congressional District.
"Dr. Victoria Wulsin has dedicated her life to improving public health," said Ellen R. Malcolm, president of EMILY's List. "Her dedication to the field of medicine is exactly the type of dedication she will use as a Member of Congress. Ohio deserves a hard working and effective leader like Vic. EMILY's List will devote its significant resources to ensuring Dr. Victoria Wulsin's victory."
Dr. Wulsin has had a successful medical career in Ohio and around the world. She has had such varied experiences as fighting outbreaks of disease as Cincinnati's city epidemiologist; to bringing unions and businesses together to improve worker safety as an officer with the US Public Health Service; to traveling around the world providing medical care to those in need.
Dr. Wulsin has already proven to be a tireless and effective campaigner who brings a wealth of knowledge to her campaign. This dedication to the hard working families of southern Ohio is just what they deserve – a leader who will fight for affordable healthcare, smart decisions on foreign policy, and most of all, an honest representative who is accountable to the voters.
"I am honored to have earned the support of the thousands of individual women and men who are members of EMILY's List," said Dr. Wulsin. "I have a lifetime of service to the people of Ohio and they deserve principled leadership that will stand up for them on the issues that matter most."
With more than 100,000 members, including over 2,800 in Ohio, EMILY's List is the largest political action committee in the nation. Since its founding in 1985, EMILY's List has helped elect 61 pro-choice Democratic women to the U.S. House, 11 to the U.S. Senate, and eight governors. In only ten election cycles, EMILY's List has helped elect hundreds of pro-choice Democratic women to federal office, state legislatures, state constitutional offices and other key local offices.
