EMILY's List announces endorsements in two emerging House races

Washington, D.C.-- EMILY's List, one of the nation's largest political action committees and financial resources for women running for elected office, today announced its endorsement of two women running in competitive races for the U.S. House of Representatives.

Becky Greenwald, Iowa's 4th congressional district
In this history-making campaign, Becky Greenwald will be the first woman to represent Iowa in the United States House of Representatives. Born and raised in Iowa, Greenwald has a strong understanding of the needs and concerns of everyday Iowans. Greenwald has been actively involved in the agricultural business in Iowa for over two decades. In Congress, she is committed to fighting for the issues that are most important to voters in the fourth district -- forging a sustainable energy plan, ensuring access to health care, and fighting for higher wages and income security. In addition to her work at Iowa seed companies, she has held many leadership positions in the state Democratic Party and with agricultural organizations such as the American Forage and Grassland Council (AFGC) and Iowa Forage and Grassland Council (IFGC). Becky Greenwald is committed to working for the families of the fourth district by standing with them on today’s critical issues and by bringing a new brand of politics to Washington.

Sharen Neuhardt, Ohio's 7th congressional district
As a lifelong resident of Ohio, Sharen Neuhardt understands and is dedicated to the concerns of Ohio's 7th district. An accomplished lawyer, Neuhardt will work for fundamental and systemic improvements to health care and to develop new technologies for energy independence. Neuhardt sits on the Board of Trustees of Premier Community Health in Dayton, Ohio, a project that offers free mammograms, pap tests and other services to uninsured women. Neuhardt's commitment to Ohio is apparent through her active involvement with local communities and farmers to preserve their agricultural heritage, and to protect family farms and agricultural land from development. Because of her leadership, experience, and dedication to her community, Sharen Neuhardt will make her a valuable voice for the working families she will represent in Congress.
