WOMEN VOTE! to Mobilize Voters for Primary
Program Will Focus on Voters in Southeastern Pennsylvania
WASHINGTON- The 2004 WOMEN VOTE! program, a nationwide voter mobilization and education project of EMILY's List, will be canvassing areas of Southeast Pennsylvania in the finals days leading up to the April 27th primary.
Staff of the Pennsylvania WOMEN VOTE! program, combined with a group of volunteers, hope to reach 10,000 voters in the last four days before the election. Representatives will be going door-to-door in several neighborhoods reaching out to Democratic primary voters in Montgomery County educating voters on key issues and encouraging voters to make a visit to the polls on Election Day.
Pennsylvania WOMEN VOTE! will be speaking to voters about the issues that the greater Philadelphia area, namely Abingdon, Springfield, Upper Dublin and White Marsh, care most about. "The working families of Pennsylvania are concerned about the future of healthcare, education, and jobs in the area and deserve to arrive at the polls well-informed," said Karen M. White, EMILY's List Political Director. "It is our hope that through our efforts Democratic primary voters will be able to make the most educated vote on April 27th."
Launched in 1995, the historic EMILY's List WOMEN VOTE! project combines polling and research, advanced information technology, sophisticated message testing, and precinct-by-precinct field work to mobilize millions of women voters across the country. EMILY's List designed WOMEN VOTE! to build a progressive political base that will elect more Democrats, especially women, by helping to increase turnout among women voters year after year.
