FEDERAL AND GUBERNATORIAL CAMPAIGNS INTERN

Department: Campaigns

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Federal and Gubernatorial Campaigns intern's primary responsibility is to support the efforts of the Federal and Gubernatorial Campaigns team in the area of campaign services in races across the country at the House, Senate, and Governorship levels. The F&G Campaigns intern works closely with the Campaigns Assistant to provide general support to the Campaigns department, the VP of Campaigns, and our EMILY’s List candidates. The F&G Campaigns intern will see first-hand the planning and implementation of EMILY’s List’s support for their candidates.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Maintain the EMILY’s List Job Bank;
  • Maintain the recent contact information of Job Bank users including e-mail lists and process resume requests as necessary or requested;
  • Assist with researching possible donors and their backgrounds as requested by EMILY’s List campaigns;
  • Assist with vetting possible EMILY’s List recruits;
  • Assist with retrieval of candidate and opponent FEC filings and background research as necessary;
  • Provide general staff support to all members of the campaigns department;
  • Provide organization support as requested or necessary.

STATE AND LOCAL CAMPAIGNS INTERN

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

The State and Local Campaigns department assists candidates on the non-federal level. The State and Local team trains and provides candidate services to candidates and staff across the country. The intern’s primary responsibility is to support the efforts of the department as outlined below. In addition, interns are offered the opportunity to be exposed to other organization activities as requested or necessary.

SPECIFIC DUTIES:

  • Organize and maintain candidate information files and State and Local database;
  • Assist with the logistics, recruitment, materials and organization of campaign trainings;
  • Communicate with state and local candidates and aid them with donor research and administrative tasks;
  • Compile and write background research on non-federal candidates and races;
  • Provide general staff support to all members of the State and Local Campaigns department;
  • Provide organization support as requested or necessary.
