A proven leader fighting for hardworking Missourians
Nicole Galloway is running for governor of Missouri to continue her lifelong fight for hardworking Missourians. A lifelong Missourian, Nicole was raised to respect the value of a dollar. She earned her undergraduate degree in applied mathematics and economics from Missouri University of Science & Technology and went on to earn her MBA from the University of Missouri. Nicole became a certified public accountant and a certified fraud examiner, and she found her passion for rooting out fraud and making sure the numbers add up. She has served as Boone County Treasurer and currently serves as Missouri State Auditor. In 2017, Nicole became Missouri’s first statewide office holder to have a baby while in office. Under her leadership as taxpayers’ independent watchdog, her office has uncovered $350 million in waste and fraud, leading to 40 criminal charges. She is the only Democrat to currently hold statewide office in Missouri, and she is a fierce champion for working families. “Independence, integrity, grit — that’s Missouri,” she has said. “That’s why we’re proud to live here. That’s how I was raised, and that’s how I’m raising my family.” Nicole lives in Columbia, Missouri with her husband and their three young sons.
A champion for Missouri working families
Nicole is running to expand economic opportunity for hardworking Missourians and to continue to be their fearless champion in Jefferson City. She is committed to ensuring that Missourians’ government works as hard as they do, and she will fight back against the fraud and corruption that comes at their expense. “I uncover it every day: dark money flows from corporations and lobbyists,” she has said. “The governor takes their money, then does their bidding. Nothing gets done for you. So it’s no wonder your health care costs are still through the roof. Wages are still lagging. Parents are still worried about their kids being able to make a good life close to home. I’m one of them.” At a time when women’s rights are under attack like never before in Missouri, Nicole will fight back to defend the progress we’ve worked so hard to make. “It’s a broken system, the old way of doing politics,” she has said. “As auditor, I’ve fought it. As governor, I’ll fix it.”
An opportunity to win a critical governorship
Nicole is challenging incumbent Republican Governor Mike Parson, a dangerous extremist who has sidelined Medicaid expansion and denied over 200,000 Missourians access to quality, affordable health care. Nicole has proven that she has what it takes to win statewide with her 2018 victory, and she has what it takes to win this critical governorship — and to serve as another powerful example of the impact women in executive leadership positions can make. Missouri has never before elected a woman to serve as governor, but Nicole is poised to make history as the first, Let’s show her the full support of the EMILY’s List community and help this champion for Missouri working families win.
