EMILY's List Congratulates Helen Tran on her Election as San Bernardino Mayor

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulates Helen Tran on being elected as San Bernardino mayor. EMILYs List President Laphonza Butler released the following statement:
 
“EMILYs List congratulates Helen Tran on her historic election and becoming San Bernardino's first AAPI woman to be elected mayor. Tran has demonstrated her passion for civic engagement, dedicating her career to organizing for a better, more equitable future.Tran not only has the experience, but the determination to lead San Bernardino into a progressive future. We are proud to stand by Tran as she works to restore confidence in local government by ensuring her constituents' civil and reproductive rights are protected.” 
 
Helen Tran is a first generation college graduate turned political organizer who has helped elect candidates all across Southern California. She became the youngest director of human resources for the city of San Bernardino and has taken numerous roles within the city including becoming a member of various committees while serving as a member of San Bernardino’s Parks, Recreation and Community Services Commission. Helen Tran has made history and is San Bernardino’s first AAPI woman elected as mayor. Tran is married and a mom of three.
