EMILYs List Endorses Pam Keith in Florida’s 18th Congressional District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, endorsed Pam Keith in Florida’s 18th Congressional District. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“EMILYs List is thrilled to endorse Pam Keith in Florida’s 18th Congressional District. An accomplished attorney and Navy veteran, Pam is an outstanding public servant who will work across the aisle to stand up for working families. In Congress, she will prioritize Floridians’ health and safety in the fight against COVID-19 and hold the powerful accountable. EMILYs List has placed GOP Rep. Brian Mast “On Notice” for voting to strip women of their reproductive freedoms and hardworking Americans – including 272,400 people in his district – of their health care. Floridians deserve a leader like Pam who can be trusted to put people before politics, and we look forward to helping her flip this seat in November.”

Pam Keith is an experienced leader and U.S. Navy veteran running for Congress to fight for Florida working families. Pam was born while her family was posted in Turkey, and then moved to Morocco, and then to Syria. She went on to graduate from U.C. Davis, earned a master’s degree, and graduated from Boston College Law School. Pam was commissioned into the United States Navy as a judge advocate and served as defense counsel at the Navy Legal Services Office in Norfolk, Virginia. She volunteered to go to Bahrain to serve as the officer in charge of the Legal Services Office, and then served as staff judge advocate for the Navy Computers and Telecommunications Command in Washington, D.C. After leaving the Navy and working for highly respected law firms, Pam was recruited by NextEra Energy/FPL to be in-house legal counsel, and put down roots in Palm Beach County.

EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $600 million to elect pro-choice Democratic women candidates. With a grassroots community of over five million members, EMILY's List helps Democratic women win competitive campaigns – across the country and up and down the ballot – by recruiting and training candidates, supporting strong campaigns, researching the issues that impact women and families, and turning out women voters to the polls. Since our founding in 1985, we have helped elect 150 women to the House, 26 to the Senate, 16 governors, and nearly 1,100 women to state and local office. Nearly 40 percent of the candidates EMILYs List has helped elect to Congress have been women of color. During the historic 2017-2018 cycle, EMILYs List raised a record-breaking $110 million and launched a record independent expenditure campaign. We helped elect 34 new women to the House, including 24 red-to-blue victories; enough seats to have delivered the U.S. House majority alone. Since the 2016 election, more than 55,000 women have reached out to EMILY's List about running for office laying the groundwork for the next decade of candidates for local, state, and national offices.
