EMILY's List Statement on Betsy Dirksen Londrigan’s Victory in Illinois’ 13th District

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, congratulated Betsy Dirksen Londrigan on tonight’s primary election victory in Illinois’ 13th Congressional District. Stephanie Schriock, president of EMILYs List, released the following statement:

“Betsy Dirksen Londrigan knows what is at stake for Central Illinois families and she will be a champion for health care, jobs, and education. When House Republican Rodney Davis voted to take away Illinoisans’ health care last year, Betsy raised her hand and said enough is enough. Now she is taking on Congressman Davis this November in this competitive district, and EMILYs List is proud to stand with Betsy as she continues her fight for Illinois families and advances to the general election.”

During the primary, EMILYs List’s voter mobilization and education project, Women Vote, launched a mail program in support of Betsy Dirksen Londrigan.
