EMILY’s List’s WOMEN VOTE! and Priorities USA Launch General Election Program Focused on Millennial Women
Campaign launches with $1.5 million digital campaign in July and August
WASHINGTON, D.C. – As Republicans get ready to officially nominate Donald Trump as their presidential pick, EMILY’s List and Priorities USA launched the first series of general election digital ads for their $20 million joint effort to mobilize millennial women this election cycle. The program begins with a $1.5 million investment in digital programming in nine key battleground states, highlighting how Donald Trump’s misogynistic, hateful worldview goes against everything that millennials stand for.
“Young people across the country could never imagine saying the derogatory, racist comments from Donald Trump, let alone having a president who says them,” said EMILY’s List Deputy Executive Director Denise Feriozzi. “The values that millennial women stand for and the future that they want hang in the balance this election—but they also have the power to do something about it. If millennial women make their voices heard this November, they can make sure Donald Trump doesn’t speak for them, or anyone else.”
“Time and again Donald Trump has proven that he’s simply too divisive and dangerous to be President of the United States,” said Priorities USA Executive Director Anne Caprara. “Priorities USA is excited to partner with EMILY’s List in our effort to ensure millennial women turn out to vote this November. Young women are an incredibly powerful force in this election and we are confident that they will help prevent Donald Trump from getting anywhere near the presidency this fall.”
While Donald Trump’s misogyny will be on full display during the Republican National Convention, EMILY’s List and Priorities USA’s campaign will seek to inform millennial women of Donald Trump’s long record of offensive, derogatory comments and how a Donald Trump presidency could impact their lives and the people they care about. The first series of the campaign consists of 15-second and 30-second ads that will air on preroll, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Hulu, Pandora, and will be served to desktop, mobile, and connected TV devices of millennial women in Colorado, Florida, Iowa, Ohio, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Nevada, Pennsylvania, and Virginia, totaling a $1.5 million investment in July and August.
