NEW CALIFORNIA Women Vote PROGRAM INTRODUCES VOTERS TO VIRGINIA MADUEÑO

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List’s voter mobilization and education project, Women Vote, announces a direct mail and digital program to introduce voters in California’s 10th District to Virginia Madueño.

Virginia Madueño is the former Mayor of Riverbank and a business owner who has dedicated herself to public service. As a lifelong resident of California’s Central Valley, Virginia is committed to creating jobs and building an economy that will work for everyone. She knows that health care is a human right and she will, stand up to Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress as they threaten the Affordable Care Act and a woman’s right to choose. Virginia will be the progressive voice of the 10th District, advocating for DREAMERS and fighting for comprehensive immigration reform so all families can achieve the American Dream.

The seven-piece mail plan targets all Democrats or Decline to State women excluding Republican Plus or Republican Ballot Preference in 18P5 [(Voted 6/10 or 6/14), Or (Voted at least 2 of 6/12, 11/14 or 6/16), OR (Registered since 6/10 & voted 6/16), OR (Any PAV that voted 6/16)] or Newly Registered Voters after 2016. The mail will be sent to a universe of 75,373 voters in 56,034 households and will drop on the following dates: 5/8, 5/11, 5/15, 5/18, 5/22, 5/25, and 5/29.

In addition to the direct mail, an investment will be made in a digital advertising campaign starting 5/7. The ads include Facebook, Google Search, voter file-targeted banner advertising, and Spanish Language Pandora radio ads. The digital universe will target: voters who voted 6/10 or 6/14, OR voted at least 2 of: 6/12, 11/14 or 6/16, OR registered since 6/10 & voted 6/16, OR any PAV that voted 6/16 or newly registered voters after 2016. The ads will focus on Virginia Madueño’s progressive priorities, highlighting the opportunity to vote by mail.

Women Vote is EMILYs List’s independent expenditure arm which works to educate and mobilize women voters on behalf of pro-choice Democratic women candidates, and help turnout voters for Democrats up and down the ballot. Launched in 1995, the EMILY's List Women Vote project combines polling and research, sophisticated message testing, the latest innovations in data and technology as well as good old-fashioned voter contact to mobilize millions of women voters across the country.
