Women Vote LAUNCHES PROGRAM EDUCATING ILLINOIS VOTERS ON BETSY DIRKSEN LONDRIGAN’S RECORD

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today EMILYs List’s voter mobilization and education project, Women Vote, announces a direct mail program to help educate Illinois voters on Betsy Dirksen Londrigan’s background and her push for Americans to have quality healthcare.

As a native of central Illinois, Betsy Dirksen Londrigan will be a champion for voters of the 13th district, standing up to Donald Trump and Republicans in Congress. She’ll fight for central Illinois — ensuring everyone has access to health care, college or career training. Dirksen Londrigan knows personally the importance of access to quality health care. Her son survived a life-threatening illness and she is so grateful for the medical team that saved his life. She knows how critical quality insurance is as hers helped with the mountain of medical bills. Betsy Dirksen Londrigan knows no family should face bankruptcy because of a medical emergency.

The 10-piece mail will focus on this narrative. Targets for this program are voters who voted in the 2016 Democratic or Republican primary and either the 2012 or 2014 Democratic primary. The universe is 33,734 voters in 25,612 households.

The ten pieces of mail will drop on the following dates: 2/5, 2/8, 2/15, 2/20, 2/23, 2/27, 3/2, 3/6, 3/9, 3/13.

Women Vote is EMILYs List’s independent expenditure arm which works to educate and mobilize women voters on behalf of pro-choice Democratic women candidates, and help turnout voters for Democrats up and down the ballot. Launched in 1995, the EMILY's List Women Vote project combines polling and research, sophisticated message testing, the latest innovations in data and technology as well as good old-fashioned voter contact to mobilize millions of women voters across the country.
